* LOCATIONS...TACONICS OF NEW YORK...SOUTHERN GREEN MOUNTAINS OF
VERMONT...BERKSHIRES OF MASSACHUSETTS AND LITCHFIELD COUNTY
CONNECTICUT.
* WINDS...EAST TO NORTHEAST 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH.
* TIMING...THE WINDS WILL INCREASE TONIGHT. THE WINDS WILL START
TO DECREASE TOMORROW TOWARDS DAYBREAK. THE WINDS WILL BE
STRONGEST ACROSS THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS AND IN AREAS WHERE THE
WINDS CAN FUNNEL BETWEEN THE HILLS AND MOUNTAINS.
* IMPACTS....DOWNED TREES AND TREES LIMBS WILL LEAD TO ISOLATED
TO SCATTERED POWER OUTAGES.

A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT SUSTAINED WINDS OF 31 TO 39 MPH ARE
EXPECTED...WITH GUSTS BETWEEN 46 TO 57 MPH. WINDS THIS STRONG ARE
CAPABLE OF DOWNING SMALL TREE LIMBS AND BRANCHES...POSSIBLY
CAUSING ISOLATED POWER OUTAGES. DRIVING CAN ALSO BE DIFFICULT...

REGION... TACONICS...BERKSHIRES...AND LITCHFIELD COUNTY
CONNECTICUT.
* HAZARD TYPES...SNOW...SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN.
* SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATIONS...ACCUMULATIONS OF 2 TO 5 INCHES
IN THE CAPITAL REGION...MID-HUDSON VALLEY...AND NORTHWEST
CONNECTICUT. 3 TO 8 INCHES OF SNOW AND SLEET FOR THE EASTERN
CATSKILLS AND SCHOHARIE VALLEY. 3 TO 6 INCHES IN THE TACONICS
AND BERKSHIRES. THE HIGHER ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE ACROSS THE
HIGHER TERRAIN.
* ICE ACCUMULATIONS...A COATING TO A TENTH OF AN INCH OR SO IS
POSSIBLE ACROSS THE EASTERN CATSKILLS...TACONICS...NORTHERN
LITCHFIELD HILLS AND BERKSHIRES.
* TIMING...A MIXTURE OF RAIN, SNOW AND SLEET WILL SPREAD ACROSS
THE REGION THIS EVENING FROM SOUTH TO NORTH. PRECIPITATION WILL
PRIMARILY BECOME SNOW AND SLEET FOR THE OVERNIGHT HOURS AND WILL
BE MODERATE TO LOCALLY HEAVY AT TIMES. SOME FREEZING RAIN MAY
MIX IN AT TIMES ESPECIALLY OVER THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS. PRECIPITATION
WILL TAPER OFF BY NOON TUESDAY.
* IMPACTS...SNOW AND SLUSH COVERED ROADS AND LOW VISIBILITY WILL
MAKE FOR HAZARDOUS TRAVEL. SIDEWALKS, DRIVEWAYS AND PARKING LOTS
WILL BE VERY SLIPPERY. THE COMBINATION OF GUSTY WINDS AND WET
SNOWFALL MAY LEAD TO SOME LOCALIZED POWER OUTAGES AS WELL. THE
TUESDAY MORNING RUSH HOUR WILL BE TREACHEROUS, CAUTION IS
ADVISED WHILE DRIVING, AND ALLOW EXTRA TRAVEL TIME.
* WINDS...NORTHEAST 10 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH.LOCALLY
HIGHER GUSTS TO 50 MPH POSSIBLE OVER THE TACONICS AND WESTERN
NEW ENGLAND.
* TEMPERATURES...IN THE LOWER TO MID 30S.
